GMG is founded by Essence Gant, a journalist and talent with over a decade of experience in media and entertainment, including a stint as BuzzFeed’s beauty director. Her passion for storytelling collides with her passion for DEI, which only enhances the finished product GMG delivers to its clients. Essence understands GMG clients' most granular needs because she's been the client in front of and behind the scenes.

The founder and creative is based in New York City, by way of Augusta, Georgia. Essence is a proud HBCU alum of Albany State University where she received her BSW, before obtaining an MSW at SUNY Albany.
